CIA Torture Prison Found: CBS News | The practice of torture and rendition (the act of sending people captured by the US to other countries for torture) by the US government have been going on at least since the Regan days, almost 30 years ago, but Obama pledged to end torture. The President did set into motions plans to close Guantanimo Bay, but the practice of rendition and the existance of this newly discovered CIA torture prison as well as Baghram still exist. Brothers of Liberty has to believe that the CIA is a secretive organization... so how many other torture sites exist that have not been discovered by the media? Our bet is more than 1. The larger picture is that torture continues by teh hands of the United States, despite the promise of President Barak Obama to end such torture; this just makes the closing of GitMo a front piece to allow the administration, allowing it to declare its achievement of ending us sponcered torture. Unfortunately this is far from the truth.
Obama Administration Will Bypass Congress to Hold Detainees Indefinitely: "The administration will continue to hold the detainees without bringing them to trial based on the power it says it has under the Congressional resolution passed after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, authorizing the president to use force against forces of Al Qaeda and the Taliban," the Times' Peter Baker writes. "In concluding that it does not need specific permission from Congress to hold detainees without charges, the Obama administration is adopting one of the arguments advanced by the Bush administration in years of debates about detention policies."

Cindy Sheehan on Obama and Afghanistan: From her website - BOL likes the end where she points our that Obama's policies toward the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are the same. Sheehan was a huge opponent of Bush and it is good to see her oppose the some policies she spoke out against. She seems to be outside of the false left / right paradigm.
